So, a couple of years ago (okay, like almost 20 now), I was commuting on a train for an hour each direction and had a lot of spare time. I read the Economist (great magazine) and that filled my time, but it wasn't enough.

A friend recommended that I write a novel. Specifically, he cited that it was 'National Novel Writing Month' in November (every year, it's November). This is also known as Na-No-Wro-Mo.

I said, "Fuck You."

I didn't want to write a novel. I thought this was patently silly. Why write novels? That's something those crazy people do who are super-into being, like, 'LITERARY' or something. That wasn't me. Except... It was.

Reading Dan Brown's 'DaVinci Code' cemented it. It was a bestseller, yet it was a really crappy novel. Every chapter was an improbable cliffhanger, and yet, it had some compelling storytelling. I thought, "Hey, even I'M Better Than This!!". I was torn.

Thus I started writing. But.. what to write? I'd read a lot of sci-fi novels, and there was no lack of fan-fic and bad sci-fi novels out there on the interwebs, but the ones that people read?

Very few novels get read, anywhere... Except... On ... Literotica. YES, that was the ticket! If you add smut, if you put some kind of romance and explicit sexual content in there, people WILL READ IT.

SEX SELLS. It's also fun to read.

The thing is: STORY COMES FIRST. Good stories start somewhere and go somewhere. Writing smut for the sake of smut isn't... it won't keep people's interest. It wouldn't keep my interest, and in order to write a book you have to read through it about ten times to fix all the piddly little stuff you didn't catch the first 9 times.

Thus I wrote Romance, and SCI-FI, but with some happy amounts of smut. Maybe in the back of my mind, I wanted to post it to literotica, but I didn't know how, and I kind of put it off, and just kept writing. One novel after another just fell out of my head onto my laptop screen. Eventually, COVID hit and I figured, hey, why not publish some stuff.

To publish I'd need a pseudonym, I didn't want every crazy wacknuts person out there reading my stuff and then deciding I WAS one of my main characters (hint, I'm not!), so I kept it anonymous.

Non-Sexy Novel

To let those in my life who might want to read my stuff but not want to read the super-sexy bits, I wrote one novel and I removed all the sexy bits from it entirely. That one is called, 'Cost-Less Cosmos' and there's nothing in there except kissing - between consenting adults.

My novel count is over 33 now. I publish most everything in three places - Literotica (free), Archive of Our Own (AO3, free), and on Amazon Kindle and Kindle Unlimited (paid, minimal fees).

There are a few novels on Kindle that I've not put elsewhere, to see if I can make money from the curious who want to read those and are curious enough to pay for it. That hasn't worked out, in that I make almost no money from them since people are finding out they exist on the other platforms and just buying them on Kindle in an easy format for them.

SO HERE GOES, links to my stuff:
